Our History

            Australiada – a Russian Chronicle is a Russian language journal first published in 1994 on the initiative of Natalie A. Melnikoff who remains to the present day its Editor in Chief. The main aim of “Australiada” is to focus upon and to record information about lives and achievements of the Russians in Australia of the past and present.

            “Australiada” is a non-profit organisation and all members work without any remuneration as volunteers.

            The journal is printed quarterly (approx. 400 copies per issue) and distributed within Australia as well as outside the country.

            “Australiada” regularly receives and publishes an interesting variety of informative articles, as well as captivating stories and poetry from the writers all over Australia.

            The Editorial Board of “Australiada” has been responsible for publishing a number almanacs such as: “The Anthology of the Russian Poets of Australia”, “Russian Harbiners in Australia” (Volumes 1 & 2), “The History of Russians in Australia” (Volumes 1,2 & 3), and also “Russian Australians” (in English). Currently “Australiada” is busy working on the fourth volume of “The History of Russians in Australia”.
